Bring 1 ½ cup of water to a boil in a saucepan.
Add 1 cup of pearl couscous, ⅛ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of butter or olive oil (if desired).
Cover saucepan and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Fluff with fork and serve!
